VALIDATION & AFFIRMATION

2SLGBTQIA+ therapy provides a safe space where your gender identity and sexual orientation are affirmed and respected. Our therapists are trained to understand and validate your experiences, helping you feel seen and understood.

IDENTITY EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT

We provide a safe space for exploring and understanding your gender identity, sexual orientation, and other aspects of yourself, allowing you to gain clarity and self- awareness while fostering personal growth and authenticity.

HEALING FROM MINORITY STRESS

We address unique stressors and challenges such as discrimination, stigma, and bullying. Our therapists can help you process and heal from these experiences, reducing their negative impact on your mental and emotional well-being.

Representation matters.

2SLGBTQIA+ folks have a higher rate of mental health issues and biopsychosocial challenges to overcome. Our therapists identify as queer and are familiar with the challenges that come with navigating our identities and finding our place in a world that often feels unwelcoming and invalidating. Kaleidoscope Counselling Collective is a safe space for LGBTQ individuals to feel supported, understood, and accepted in their healing and wellness journey.

You belong here.

Does this sound like you?

We are trusted allies here to support you every step of the way.

QUEER-AFFIRMING THERAPY

How We Can Help

We provide individual and relationship counselling from therapists who identify as queer and deeply understand the unique experiences and challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. In short, we get it! That’s why we have created a safe and affirming space where you can feel understood, validated, and supported on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
DBT is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy designed to help individuals regulate their emotions, form connections with others, and better cope with stress. For 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, DBT is beneficial in addressing the unique stressors and emotional challenges they may face due to discrimination or identity-related issues. By learning skills to manage intense emotions and navigate interpersonal relationships, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals can enhance their overall well-being and improve their relationships.
CBT is a widely used therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviours. This method can help 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals address internalized homophobia, transphobia, or other negative beliefs about their identity. By reframing these beliefs and developing healthier coping mechanisms, individuals can experience greater self-acceptance and boost self-confidence.
IFS is a therapeutic modality that explores the various “parts” of an individual’s psyche and aims to integrate them into a cohesive whole. For 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, IFS can help navigate the complexity of identity formation, especially when facing societal or familial pressure to conform. By fostering self-compassion and understanding, IFS can support individuals in embracing all aspects of their identity.
EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and creating secure attachments within relationships. In 2SLGBTQIA+ therapy, EFT can help couples or individuals address communication issues, rebuild trust, and navigate conflicts with ease.
The Gottman Method is a therapeutic approach focusing on enhancing relationship dynamics through improved communication and conflict resolution skills. It provides a safe and affirming space to explore emotions, navigate relationship challenges, and foster healthier connections.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a therapeutic approach centered on accepting one’s thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with personal values. ACT offers tools to explore and make sense of tough emotions, navigate societal pressures, embrace authentic identities, and cultivate resilience in the face of discrimination without internalizing it.
Art therapy uses creative expression to facilitate emotional healing and self-exploration. This approach can provide a non-verbal outlet for processing complex feelings. By engaging in artistic activities, individuals can gain insight, express themselves authentically, and foster a sense of empowerment.
Holistic wellness and health coaching take a comprehensive approach to well-being, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health. This method supports individuals in developing self-care practices, improving self-esteem, and enhancing overall quality of life.
Transpersonal psychology explores the spiritual dimensions of human experience and emphasizes interconnectedness and transcendence. This approach supports individuals in exploring questions of identity, purpose, and meaning beyond societal norms or expectations. By integrating spiritual and existential perspectives, individuals can find greater self-understanding and inner peace.
Compassionate and psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on exploring unconscious patterns, relational dynamics, and emotional wounds. These approaches can help individuals uncover and heal past traumas, navigate identity development, and cultivate self-compassion. By fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship, compassionate and psychodynamic psychotherapy can promote deep healing and personal growth.

Your well-being is our priority, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

ABOUT US

Why Work With Kaleidoscope Counselling Collective

Kristie Brassard

MSW, RSW

Founder & Clinical Director

Our psychotherapy and counselling practice was built on the philosophy that we’re all imperfect humans with our own strengths and struggles – there are no bad parts of us, only steps to take in our personal journey to living authentically.

When you’re struggling with your emotions, feeling disconnected, or craving more meaning in your life, it can be hard to know what you need to start feeling better.

There are so many competing priorities that you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or stuck existing in a space that isn’t giving you enough joy, peace, or purpose. We want to help tap into the inner strength that allows you to uncover the passion, confidence, and courage you have for living wholly as you.

Our clinicians have extensive lived experience and professional expertise. We use a client-centered, eclectic, and holistic approach to help you get the results you need.

Let us help you embrace your authenticity boldly & proudly by supporting your goals, identity, and life aspirations!

Kaleidoscope Counselling Collective is a queer-affirming, ally friendly, virtual therapy practice that is:

As members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, we’ve all had our own experiences with figuring out our authentic selves in a world where we’re expected to be heterosexual and cis-generded. We bring our lived experience and professional expertise to each session, helping clients explore who they truly are, what they want and need, and how to overcome the barriers they face. We use various techniques to help clients get curious about themselves and explore who they are at their core, and connect with their “inner knowing”.

We never pressure our clients to share their truth unless that feels right for them to do so. We encourage self-expression in ways that feel safe and comfortable for our clients, and we support them every step of the way.

Our clinicians are all eclectic and client-centered in their approach. We use a variety of evidence-based and creative interventions, letting our clients and our intuition guide us.
